Monastics currently studying at (or teaching in) Buddhist institutes in Mainland China are eligible to apply. Applicants must be recommended by their current institute and submit an official letter of recommendation. Applicants for the bachelor\u2019s program must hold a high school diploma or an equivalent qualification. Applicants for the master\u2019s program must have graduated from a university (college) or completed an undergraduate program at a Buddhist institute.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Applications are accepted according to the dates announced in each program brochure.
In principle, applications for the first semester (Fall Semester) should be submitted by the end of March each year, while applications for the second semester (Spring Semester) should be submitted by the end of August.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The minimum duration of study is one semester, and the maximum duration is one year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n

After passing the internal review, the university will apply on behalf of the visiting monastic for the \u201cTaiwan Entry Permit\u201d through the National Immigration Agency. The \u201cMainland China Resident Permit for Traveling to Taiwan\u201d must be applied for by the applicant through the relevant authorities in Mainland China.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Tuition, miscellaneous fees, medical insurance, and accommodation expenses may be subsidized depending on available donations for the year (or the applicant\u2019s preference). If no donation funding is available in that year, applicants are required to pay tuition and insurance fees themselves; the university will provide meals and accommodation free of charge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n
The courses offered by the department focus primarily on academic research in Buddhist studies. Courses on \u201ctemple administration\u201d or \u201cmonastic management\u201d are not provided. Applicants are advised to carefully consider their study plans before applying.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
Students must complete 8 to 14 credits per semester. Upon completion of the study period, those with good conduct and passing grades (60 or above for undergraduate level; 70 or above for graduate level) may be issued an official transcript. In accordance with current regulations, no degree certificate will be awarded. Academic records will be sent to the applicant\u2019s original Buddhist institute for reference in credit transfer.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
