Mission and profile of International Affairs Section

The Dharma Drum Institute of Liberal Arts was formed by merging the Dharma Drum Buddhist College and the Dharma Drum Humanities and Social Sciences College in August 2014 with the approval of the Ministry of Education. To implement the internationalization goals and foster cross-strait academic exchanges, the Institute set up the International Affairs Section in September 2014. The main tasks of the Section are as follows:

  1. To strengthen the international and cross-strait exchanges of the Institute and promote the internationalization of academic research:
    1. Strengthen overseas exchange activities and promote sister school cooperation and academic exchange
    2. Promote Exchange Students, Visiting Scholars (students), etc.
    3. Organize international academic seminars in line with the Institute.
  1. To establish an environment for international teaching in our school:
    1. Promoting English courses
    2. Improving the students’ foreign languages proficiency
    3. Assisting students with overseas studies
    4. Strengthening International Admissions

    Duties:

       1) Foreign student recruitment
       2) Liaison with contracting schools and contract signing
       3) Accepting applications for overseas exchange students and short-term students
       4) Handling applications of visiting scholars (students)
       5) Reception of foreign guests
       6) Accepting overseas monks to come to school for short-term study
       7) Handling of foreign institution’s cooperation programs
       8) Handling students going abroad for study and internships
       9) Compilation of unit budgetary expenses
     10) Webpage maintenance
