Welcome to DILA. Our campus sits on Dharma Drum Mountain in Jinshan, New Taipei City — a tranquil hillside setting by the sea. This guide will help you prepare and settle in smoothly.
學術生活Academic Life
法鼓文理學院雖具佛教背景，但日常校園生活與一般大學院校無異。來校前無需具備任何佛學背景或宗教信仰。
DILA is a Buddhist-affiliated university, but day-to-day campus life is that of a regular academic institution. No prior background in Buddhism is required or assumed.
出家眾與校園生活Monastic Community
校園內住有來自各佛教傳承的出家學生，他們依照一般大學規範作息。本校目前無法提供特定傳承所需之個別生活安排。如對此有任何疑慮，歡迎在抵台前與我們聯繫，以便提前溝通。
DILA is home to monastic students from various Buddhist traditions, all of whom follow standard university routines on campus. We are not able to accommodate tradition-specific living requirements. If you have concerns about this, we encourage you to reach out before your arrival so we can discuss together.
教學語言Language of Instruction
本校的學術語言為中文，幾乎所有課程皆以中文授課。台灣學生通常可以英文溝通，但即使只有基礎中文程度，也將大幅有助於融入校園生活，並開拓與人交流的空間。
The academic language here is Mandarin Chinese — nearly all courses are conducted in Chinese. Taiwanese students are often comfortable in English, but having even basic Mandarin will make settling in much easier and open more doors with people.

台灣 SIM 卡 / eSIMMobile Data
若想在抵台前就備好網路，可出發前在網路上預購 eSIM（選擇支援台灣的方案）。抵台後在機場購買實體 SIM 卡也非常方便，詳見「在機場」說明。
You may purchase a Taiwan eSIM online before departure. Physical SIM cards are also easy to buy on arrival — see the At the Airport section.
必備攜帶物品What to Bring — Required
以下物品請務必自行備齊。校內及法鼓山園區均無販賣個人盥洗或生活用品，金山鎮上最近的商店亦需車程約 20 分鐘。
Please bring all of the following. Toiletries and daily necessities are not sold on campus or in the Dharma Drum Mountain complex. The nearest shops are in Jinshan Town, ~20 minutes by car.
個人盥洗用品（洗浴用品、牙刷、毛巾、浴巾等）、水杯、環保餐具（筷子 / 湯匙 / 飯盒）、萬用插座、拖鞋。
Toiletries (shampoo, toothbrush, towels, bath towel), mug or water bottle, reusable cutlery (chopsticks / spoon / container), universal power adapter, indoor slippers.
We strongly recommend stocking up in Taipei before heading to campus.
換台幣Exchange NTD (New Taiwan Dollar)
校內沒有 ATM，最近的提款機在金山鎮上（車程 20 分鐘）。建議在機場先換足夠的現金，用於住宿費、餐費及日常開銷。
There is no ATM on campus. Please exchange enough cash at the airport to cover accommodation, meals, and daily expenses for the first week.
購買 SIM 卡Prepaid SIM Card
在機場入境大廳的電信櫃檯（中華電信 Chunghwa / 遠傳 FarEasTone / 台灣大哥大 Taiwan Mobile）購買預付型 SIM 卡，有 4G/5G 吃到飽方案可選。
Buy at telecom counters in the arrival hall. Unlimited 4G/5G plans are available. You will need your passport plus visa or boarding pass.
悠遊卡EasyCard (Transit & Convenience Stores)
在便利商店或捷運站購買，每張 NT$100（空卡，需另外加值）。可搭捷運、公車，也可在便利商店消費。
NT$100 per card (no stored value — top up separately). Valid on the MRT, buses, and at most convenience stores.
Most convenience store and post office ATMs accept foreign cards with VISA, MasterCard, Plus, Cirrus, JCB, or UnionPay logos. Make sure your card has international ATM access enabled.

Board at Taipei Main Station East Gate 3 東三門 — Bus 1815A to Dharma Drum Mountain
~90 min · NT$143 · every 1–2 hours
There is a 15-minute uphill walk from the Dharma Drum Mountain bus stop to DILA. If you have heavy luggage, let OIA know in advance or take a taxi from Jinshan Town (see Option 3).
The bus follows the scenic north coast highway — the 1.5–2 hour journey is perfectly normal. Sit back and enjoy the views.
選項三 — 金山計程車Option 3 — Taxi from Jinshan Town
若已搭客運或其他方式抵達金山市區，可在金山郵局站搭排班計程車直接上山。
If you are already in Jinshan, taxis are available at the Jinshan Post Office bus stop.

法鼓文理學院交通資訊 DILA Traffic Guide Kuo-Kuang Bus 1815A Timetable (English) 國光客運 1815A 時刻表（中文）在確認您的訪問起始日和離校日後，我們會事先為您申請住宿。抵校報到時，我們將陪同帶您至出納繳納住宿費。
Once your dates are confirmed, we will arrange accommodation in advance. On arrival, we will accompany you to the cashier to pay your accommodation fee.
報到流程Arrival Steps

Collect meal stored-value card (stays of 1 month or more)
For stays of 30 days or less, meals are paid by cash directly at the cafeteria. No stored-value card will be issued.

Rooms are not equipped for cooking. The Chanyue common lounge offers a rice cooker and induction cooktop for your use.

本校支持永續理念，每間房每月提供基本電量 50 度，超出部分需另外購買（每度 NT$3.5）。
In line with our sustainability values, each room receives 50 kWh per month. Additional usage is charged at NT$3.5 per kWh.
洗衣Laundry
地下一樓設有投幣式洗衣機（NT$20 / 30 分鐘）和烘衣機（NT$10 / 30 分鐘）。洗衣精如有需要可向我們詢問。
Coin-operated washing machines (NT$20 / 30 min) and dryers (NT$10 / 30 min) are on the basement floor. Detergent is available upon request.
出坡禪 — 在動中修行Mindful Living on Campus
🌱 飲食：本校為全素校園，請尊重我們的飲食文化，避免將葷食或奶蛋以外的動物性製品帶入校園。
DILA is a vegetarian campus. Please respect our food culture — no meat, fish, or animal products other than dairy and eggs on campus.
👘 衣著：校內有出家眾，請於室外避免無袖上衣或短褲，住宿區亦請留意衣著得體。
Members of the monastic community live and practise on campus. Outdoors, please avoid sleeveless tops and shorts; modest dress is also appreciated in the dormitory areas.
🛏 寢具：入住時請至櫃台領取寢具，離開前請將被套與枕套拆下、拉好拉鍊後歸還，以利清洗。
Bedding is collected from the front desk on check-in. Before checkout, please remove and zip up all duvet and pillow covers and return them for laundering.
🧹 清掃 / 垃圾：請定期清掃房間，清掃用具在地下一樓。垃圾分類回收區在地下一樓，不可回收垃圾請使用專用垃圾袋。
Clean your room regularly; cleaning tools are on the basement floor. Recycling and waste area is on the basement floor; non-recyclable waste requires a designated trash bag.
Our campus has accessible facilities. If you have any specific needs, please let us know in advance — we are happy to make arrangements.

關於素食About the Vegetarian Menu
法鼓文理學院為蛋奶素校園。每餐設有一道不含五辛（蔥、蒜、韭、薤、興渠）及蛋奶的全素選項。如有特殊飲食需求或過敏，請提前告知我們。
DILA is a lacto-ovo vegetarian campus. Each meal includes a fully vegan option (free of the five pungent alliums and all animal products). Please let us know about dietary needs or allergies in advance.
心安軒菜單與公告 Cafeteria Menu & Announcements校內：禪悅軒（24 小時開放）On-Campus: Chanyue Vending Area (24/7)
禪悅軒設有販賣機及廚房設備，可滿足基本即時需求。
- 販賣機：零食、飲料、微波食品（投幣式，請備零錢）Vending machines: snacks, drinks, microwave meals. Coins required.
- 廚房設備：電鍋可加熱食物；IH 電磁爐可簡單烹煮（煮泡麵、水煮蛋等）Steamer for reheating; IH induction cooktop for simple cooking (noodles, boiled eggs, etc.)
Cookware must be induction-compatible (stainless steel or cast iron). Aluminium pots will not work.

前往金山鎮上Getting to Jinshan Town
- 步行：約 40 分鐘下山On foot: ~40 minutes downhill
- 客運：搭乘國光客運下山班次Bus: Kuo-Kuang intercity bus toward Jinshan
- 計程車：國光客運金山郵局站搭排班計程車，上山約 NT$200Taxi from Jinshan Post Office stop: ~NT$200 (weekday) / ~NT$250 (weekend) up to campus
Search “Jinbaoli Presbyterian Church” on Google Maps to locate the taxi stand. Uber is rarely available here — call the Jinshan taxi hotline directly: (02) 2498-2721.
天氣與穿著Weather & Clothing
金山位於北海岸山區，天氣與台北市區不同，多雨潮濕，請做好準備。
Jinshan is in the north coast mountains. The climate differs notably from central Taipei — expect more rain and humidity year-round.

15–25°C. Mild with cool mornings/evenings. Occasional showers — bring a light jacket.
6–8月
Jun–Aug
28–35°C. Hot and humid. More mosquitoes — bring insect repellent and sunscreen.

8–16°C. Damp and chilly — feels colder than the numbers suggest. Warm layers and a waterproof jacket are essential.
