Welcome to DILA. Our campus sits on Dharma Drum Mountain in Jinshan, New Taipei City — a tranquil hillside setting between the mountains and the sea. This guide will help you prepare and settle in smoothly.
歡迎蒞臨法鼓文理學院。本校位於新北市金山區法鼓山上，依山傍海，環境清幽。以下資訊將協助您順利抵達並安頓。
Academic Life學術生活
DILA is a Buddhist-affiliated university, but day-to-day campus life is that of a regular academic institution. No prior background in Buddhism is required or assumed.
本校雖具佛教背景，日常校園生活與一般大學無異，來校前無需具備佛學背景或宗教信仰。
Monastic Community出家眾與校園生活
DILA is home to monastic students and faculty from various Buddhist traditions, all following standard university routines. If you have any questions about campus life, you are warmly welcome to reach out before you arrive.

During Your Visit訪問期間
Your host department may invite you to give a talk or seminar during your stay. Your OIA coordinator will confirm the details with you in advance — there is no obligation, and we are glad to shape it around your interests.

Mobile Data — eSIM台灣 SIM 卡 / eSIM
If you’d like data ready on landing, buy a Taiwan eSIM online before departure. Physical SIM cards are also easy to buy on arrival — see At the Airport.
若想抵台前備好網路，可出發前線上預購支援台灣的 eSIM。抵台後於機場購買實體 SIM 卡亦很方便，詳見「在機場」。
What to Bring必備攜帶物品
Please bring the following. Toiletries and daily necessities are not sold on campus or in the Dharma Drum Mountain complex; the nearest shops are in Jinshan Town, ~20 minutes by car.
以下請自行備齊。校內及法鼓山園區均無販售個人盥洗或生活用品，最近的商店在金山鎮上（車程約 20 分鐘）。
Toiletries (shampoo, toothbrush, towels, bath towel), mug or water bottle, reusable cutlery (chopsticks / spoon / container), universal power adapter, indoor slippers.
盥洗用品（洗浴用品、牙刷、毛巾、浴巾）、水杯、環保餐具（筷子／湯匙／飯盒）、萬用插座、拖鞋。
We recommend stocking up in Taipei before heading up to campus, rather than waiting until you arrive.
建議在台北採買後再上山，不必等到抵校才補充。
Exchange NTD換台幣（新台幣）
There is no ATM on campus (the nearest is in Jinshan Town, ~20 min away). Exchange enough cash at the airport to cover your accommodation fee, meals, and the first week’s expenses.
校內沒有 ATM，最近的提款機在金山鎮上（車程 20 分鐘）。建議在機場先換足夠現金，支應住宿費、餐費及首週開銷。
Prepaid SIM Card購買 SIM 卡
Buy at the telecom counters in the arrival hall (Chunghwa / FarEasTone / Taiwan Mobile). Unlimited 4G/5G plans are available; bring your passport plus visa or boarding pass.
於入境大廳電信櫃檯（中華電信／遠傳／台灣大哥大）購買，有 4G/5G 吃到飽方案，需備護照及簽證或登機證。
EasyCard悠遊卡
NT$100 per card (empty — top up separately). Valid on the MRT, buses, and at most convenience stores.
每張 NT$100（空卡，需另加值）。可搭捷運、公車，也可在便利商店消費。
Most convenience-store and post-office ATMs accept foreign cards with VISA, MasterCard, Plus, Cirrus, JCB, or UnionPay logos. Make sure your card has international ATM access enabled before you travel.
便利商店與郵局 ATM 通常接受有 VISA、MasterCard、Plus、Cirrus、JCB 或銀聯標誌的外國卡，請先確認已啟用海外提款功能。

There is a ~15-minute uphill walk from the Dharma Drum Mountain bus stop to campus. With heavy luggage, let your coordinator know in advance, or take a taxi from Jinshan Town (Option 3).
法鼓山公車站到校門口需步行約 15 分鐘上坡。行李較多時，請先告知專屬窗口，或改在金山鎮轉搭計程車（選項三）。
The 1815A follows the scenic north-coast highway; the 1.5–2 hour ride is perfectly normal — sit back and enjoy the sea views.
1815A 沿北海岸公路行駛，全程 1.5–2 小時屬正常，沿途海景很美，請放心享受。
Option 3 — Taxi from Jinshan Town選項三 — 金山計程車
If you are already in Jinshan, taxis wait at the Jinshan Post Office bus stop for the ride up to campus.
若已抵達金山市區，可在金山郵局站搭排班計程車直接上山。

DILA Traffic Guide 法鼓文理學院交通資訊 Kuo-Kuang Bus 1815A Timetable (English) 國光客運 1815A 時刻表（中文）Once your dates are confirmed, we arrange your accommodation in advance. On arrival, your coordinator will meet you and accompany you to the cashier to settle the accommodation fee.
確認訪問起訖日後，我們會事先為您安排住宿。抵校時專屬窗口將迎接您，並陪同至出納繳納住宿費。

Research Room研究室
The library has study/research rooms available to visiting scholars. If you would like one reserved for your stay, please request it in advance by email to oia@dila.edu.tw.
圖書館設有可供訪問學人使用的研究室。如需於訪問期間使用，請事先來信 oia@dila.edu.tw 提出申請。
Borrowing & Access借閱與使用
A library card (up to 25 books, 21-day loan) is issued for stays of one month or more. For shorter stays, in-library reading is available; if you need borrowing access, just ask your coordinator and we will do our best to arrange it.
停留滿 1 個月者辦理借書證（每次至多 25 本、借期 21 天）；未滿 1 個月者可館內閱覽，如需借閱請告知專屬窗口，我們將盡力協助。
Campus-wide Wi-Fi is available for your research; printing and scanning can be arranged through the library or OIA.
全校區均有無線網路；列印與掃描可透過圖書館或國際事務組協助。

Room Amenities房間配備
Private bathroom, desk, desk lamp, bookshelf, wardrobe, summer duvet, pillow, hangers, and a laundry bucket.
獨立衛浴、書桌、檯燈、書櫃、衣櫥、夏被、枕頭、衣架、洗衣水桶。
Cooking is not permitted in the rooms. For heating or simple cooking, kitchen facilities are available in the common area.
房間內不可煮食；如需加熱或簡單烹調，可使用公共區域的廚房設備。
Laundry洗衣
Washing and drying facilities are on the basement floor (B1). Detergent is available on request.
洗衣及烘衣設備位於地下一樓（B1），洗衣精如有需要可向我們索取。
Mindful Living on Campus在動中修行
🌱 Food. DILA is a vegetarian campus. We warmly ask that no meat, fish, or animal products (other than dairy and eggs) be brought onto campus.
飲食：本校為蛋奶素校園，敬請勿將葷食或奶蛋以外之動物性製品帶入校園。
👕 Dress. Members of the monastic community live and practise here, so guests are asked to dress modestly outdoors — please avoid sleeveless tops or shorts.
衣著：校內有出家眾常住修行，戶外請著裝從簡，避免無袖上衣或短褲。
🛏 Bedding. Collect your bedding from the front desk on arrival; before you leave, please remove and return the duvet and pillow covers for laundering.
寢具：入住時至櫃台領取；離開前請將被套、枕套拆下歸還以利清洗。
🧹 Room & waste. Please tidy your room regularly (cleaning tools on B1). Recycling and waste sorting is on B1; non-recyclable waste needs a designated trash bag.
清掃／垃圾：請定期清掃（用具在 B1）；垃圾分類回收在 B1，不可回收垃圾請用專用垃圾袋。
Our campus has accessible facilities. If you have any specific needs, please let us know in advance — we are glad to help arrange things.
校園設有無障礙設施。如有特殊需求，歡迎提前告知，我們很樂意協助。
Located on the 1st floor of the General Building. Pay-as-you-go — stored-value card or cash only; no credit cards. Scholars staying under a month simply pay cash at the counter.
位於綜合大樓一樓。自費用餐，以儲值卡或現金付款（不收信用卡）。停留未滿一個月者於櫃檯付現即可。

About the Vegetarian Menu關於素食
DILA is a lacto-ovo vegetarian campus. Each meal includes a fully vegan option, free of the five pungent alliums (garlic, onion, etc.). Please tell us about any dietary needs or allergies in advance.
本校為蛋奶素校園，每餐另有一道不含五辛及蛋奶的全素選項。如有特殊飲食需求或過敏，請提前告知。

電鍋加熱、IH 電磁爐可簡單烹煮
IH cookware must be induction-compatible (stainless steel or cast iron). Aluminium pots will not work.
IH 電磁爐須用電磁爐適用鍋具（不鏽鋼或鑄鐵），傳統鋁鍋無法使用。

Weather & Clothing天氣與穿著
Jinshan is in the north-coast mountains — noticeably wetter and more humid than central Taipei year-round.
金山位於北海岸山區，較台北市區多雨潮濕，請預作準備。
Mar–May / Sep–Nov
約 15–25°C，早晚涼、偶有陣雨，建議帶薄外套。
Jun–Aug
約 28–35°C，潮濕悶熱、蚊蟲較多，建議帶防蚊液及防曬乳。
Dec–Feb
約 8–16°C，潮濕陰冷、體感更低，務必帶保暖衣物及雨具。
